How do I begin the franchise process?

Do I need previous restaurant experience to become a franchisee?

Our ideal franchise partners would have a background in hospitality and or restaurant experience with strong operational and financial resources.

Do I need to work in the franchise?

Franchisees must either be involved in the day-to-day operation of their Doner Shack store or have hired a Brand Manager who is fully trained and responsible for the day-to-day running of the location.

How long does the process take to become a franchisee?

The time needed to become a franchisee varies and depends on the opportunities available and the management experience of the franchisee.

What does the initial franchise fee cover, does it cover training and start up supplies?

What is the royalty fee?

In order to use the Doner Shack name, trademark and national logo, franchisees are required to pay a 6% royalty fee of net sales per restaurant to Doner Shack.

What is the marketing fee?

You will pay a 2% national marketing fee, which covers all national brand marketing. The Franchisor recommends you spend an additional 1% on local marketing and advertising.

Are single and multi unit opportunities available?

Yes, subject to certain territories.

Is Doner Shack interested in building in non-traditional areas such as military bases, airports, travel plazas and universities?

Yes, we have concept models adaptable to non-traditional areas.
